Copper Ridge 6th Grade State Winners

The U.S. Army announced that the 6th grade Wizards from Copper Ridge were named as the state winner in the 14th annual eCYBERMISSION competition – one of several science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) initiatives offered by the U.S. Army Educational Outreach Program.

The Wizards worked together with team advisor Mrs. Marina Rodriguez to create a new type of speed bump that has two humps in order to reduce speeding in school parking lots and neighborhoods.

Additionally, a second Copper Ridge team, the Demelectrons, was awarded honorable mention in the competition.

Congratulations to our talented students!
